The Rare Orchid proudly manufactures overseas responsibly.  The fundamental principle of being fair in business ensures that factory partners are
compensated justly and work in standard conditions, and that all our products are made with the highest level of quality and care.  TRO's primary manufacturer is a small factory in Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province.  This family owned operation was established in the predominantly agricultural area to help sustain the surrounding communities.  Meredith traveled to Taizhou in October 2008 to train the assembly staff and help build a strong, longlasting relationship.  Her dedicated effort with her factory clearly pays off with the end result being proucts you are proud to buy.

 

About The Rare Orchid

The Rare Orchid (TRO) was started in 2007 by owner and product designer Meredith Lee, a social worker who had graduated from UCLA just a few years before and was finding it hard to make ends meet in the "real world".  What began as a weekend hobby selling crafts under a tent has quickly grown into
a strong, unique business.

Based in Honolulu, Hawaii, TRO products are inspired from the beauty of the natural surroundings as well as the rich, diverse culture Hawaii has to offer.  Meredith's passion for art and attention to detail are reflected in all her products, with quality and function continuing to be the primary goal as the business grows from homemade crafts to mass produced manufacturing.
